Uniform

The history of our school started 300 years ago at The Chester Bluecoat Building in Chester on Northgate Street. Its purpose to educate boys from poorer families in Chester. The Bluecoat Boys wore distinctive deep blue uniforms and yellow stockings, which 300 years later our students continue by wearing navy blue blazers and our senior students have a gold stripe in their ties.

At Bishops’ we take pride in our appearance. Our distinctive school uniform is something we are proud of and we support all students to take pride in their appearance. Our uniqueness makes students from Bishops’ easily recognisable when out in the wider community representing the school through activities and events.

We are justifiably proud of our 300 year history in Chester and this is reflected our house names.
