Careers & Vacancies

The Bishops’ Blue Coat Church of England High School is an exciting place to be. We know, nurture and inspire our community to be the best version of themselves through a better understanding of the Christian faith, and a rich set of opportunities that support and challenge our learners so they are equipped to succeed. Through their engagement in society at Bishops’ and beyond, students make a positive difference through their wise action and a sense of responsibility. Our students’ initiative, drive and resilience will enable them to flourish and live ‘life in all its fullness.’ (John 10:10).

What Our Staff Say

Bishops' is an exciting place to be and it is the people we work with that make it so.

Mr A Owen – School Timetable implementation and modeller, Teacher of MFL

“I find Bishops’ an extremely rewarding place to work where the pupils and staff are at the centre of decisions made, fully embracing the school’s ethos of a place where all are nurtured. During my time at Bishops’ I’ve been able to become involved in a variety of opportunities outside of the classroom, such as DofE, trips abroad and primary transition events. Bishops’ is a school with a strong professional development culture. I’m proud to have been part of the school’s journey.”

Mrs C Lloyd – Receptionist

“As a previous student I have many happy memories of my time at Bishops’ as a student. During my time studying the ethos and support received was fantastic and today as an adult I see how this remains. I feel so proud as I did as a student now employed at the school. l I continue to be impressed with the caring and high-quality support given to students. More recently, I have been able to observe the working practices of the school not only through my working at a place in which sits fondly in my heart but also through family members who have attended. Today I feel as happy and proud of the school as I did as a Student”

Dr D James – Science Teacher

“I see Bishops’ as a place to work where staff are understanding to the needs of students and other staff. Year on year I notice improvements in both the structure and the approach to learning which is driven by wanting to improve outcomes for all students, not just for Ofsted. Looking forward, I can’t see anywhere else that I would wish to teach.”

“Staff feel well supported. They value opportunities to develop their expertise and subject knowledge” Ofsted 2019
