Bishops’ is well served by a range of transport options, with dedicated school services and public bus routes enabling students to travel from across Chester, Flintshire, Ellesmere Port and the surrounding areas.

Dedicated School Coach Service

To support families travelling from the Ellesmere Port and Saughall areas, Bishops’ offers a dedicated school coach service providing direct transport to and from school each day.

The service operates exclusively for Bishops’ students and offers reserved seating for annual pass holders.

Annual Pass

£1,165 per year, payable over 10 months
Equivalent to approximately £6.13 per day
£1,145 when paid in full

Please note that annual passes are non-refundable and purchasers remain liable for the full annual cost. To secure a reserved seat, passes should be purchased before the start of the academic year.

Weekly Tickets(subject to availability)

£34 per week
Equivalent to approximately £6.80 per day

Daily Tickets(subject to availability)

£8 return
£4.90 single journey

Public Bus Services

A number of public transport services also serve Bishops’ students.

Route 209 provides transport between Ellesmere Port, Saughall and Chester, while Route 61 serves Higher Kinnerton, Dodleston, Westminster and the Lache area of Chester. The 61 service is operated by Stagecoach and forms part of the wider public transport network.

Many students also travel via Chester Bus Interchange, which offers regular connections across Cheshire, Flintshire and the surrounding region.

By Car

If students are arriving or leaving by car, the school car park has limited space with a one-way system and speed limits. You are asked to arrange collection points outside the school car park to keep both students and staff exiting the buildings safe.Walking or Cycling

We encourage students to be active and as such, we promote cycling to school. We provide a secure storage facility for students’ bikes, but we do recommend they are coded and insured. Students should provide their own individual bike lock. Safety is our priority, as such we advocate students wear a helmet when cycling, reflective clothing and attach lights to their bike.

Students’ must dismount at the school entrance and take their bicycle to the store. In the evening students should walk their bicycle to the Vaughan’s Lane pedestrian exit and join cycle routes safely.
