Enrichment

We want every student at Bishops’ to enjoy the enrichment that comes from participating in the extra-curricular life of our school and so we use one period of Form Time a fortnight to provide them with an extra-curricular experience that they can select from a menu of enrichment opportunities.

Our menu of enrichment activities includes such things as:

Board games
Debate
School newspaper
Art and drawing
ICT skills
Basketball
Football
Netball
Dodgeball

By using our curriculum time creatively in this way, we ensure that the extra-curricular life of our school is inclusive and enriching for everyone.

Bishops' Church of England High School CCF are a newly formed Combined Cadet Force

We currently have an Army section with 30 regular cadets. Our cadets meet in the school sports hall and parade on a Tuesday afternoon from 2.30pm – 4.30pm during term time. Cadets undertake training sessions as well as military based lessons. Some of the activities include:

Map and Compass
Navigations Skills
First Aid
Badges of Rank
Values and Standards
Weapons Handling
Fieldcraft
Drill
Command Tasks

Cadets also have the oppurtunity to attend regular sessions at Fox Barracks, Chester where they have gained experience shooting on the ranges. They also can attend overnight fieldcraft exercises and partake in the annual summer camp at Warcop.

The CCF is open to any student over the age of 12.
