Extra Curricular

Our extra-curricular programme is extremely important to the life of our school and is one of the ways in which we support our young people to:

  • explore their interests and develop new skills
  • enjoy school life
  • make new friends and develop social skills
  • grow in character
  • take on positions of leadership
  • enrich themselves and learn outside of the classroom
  • develop their Christian faith

Our extra-curricular offer is wide and varied and growing all of the time, encompassing lunchtime and after-school clubs, sporting activities and longer-term commitments and experiences such as Cadets and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Examples of clubs currently on offer at Bishops’ are:

Student Leadership

At Bishops’, we aim to provide our students with a wide range of opportunities to grow and demonstrate leadership skills and aptitudes. Through both our LIFE Programme and our curriculum subjects, students at Bishops’ experience progressive and deepening opportunities across their 7-year journey to:

  • grow in confidence and take the initiative
  • represent the school
  • take on positions of responsibility
  • work alongside staff, including senior leaders
  • innovate, initiate and organise projects
  • provide leadership, support and guidance for each other
